In the weeks passed I've heard countless opinions on a song by Drake entitled "Marvin's Room", a track from his upcoming release titled "Take Care". Recently I gave in and decided to finally give it a listen and as soon as the beat dropped I was taken.
This song is a reflection of when a man realizes his the mistake of leaving someone that he never truly stopped loving. A tale of a mad who's life has slid into a tailspin once he's seen that the woman that he can't let go of has moved on. The pain of seeing the person who once smile at the thought of you, laugh and cry in the arms of another man. You begin questioning yourself and start to wonder what went wrong and think of all the moments that could've been changed and how situations could've been handled.
You drop your head as you see them walk by and you heart sinks as that beautiful smile begins to crack as he makes her laugh. You lay in your bed at night wondering if she ever thinks of you. You call her friends to start conversations hoping to start a conversation that will bring her name around. You hold tight to a dream that seems so far away and pray to God that one day he brings her back to you. You look at him and start to compare yourself to him trying to figure out what makes him better. You begin living reckless and doing things you would never do in hopes that either it will take her off your mind or something tragic will put you on her mind.
All we can do is hope....
